"The beauty industry is my passion. I love this work and have a genuine interest in working with people in a personal, creative, and collaborative way." My passion for makeup and beauty began at 10 years of age when the Avon lady came to my home. I loved watching her help my mother pick out the perfect shade of coral lipstick. Mom indulged my curiosity by getting me makeup through a "Beauty of the Month Club". I explored every combination of colors and products I could think of with my monthly kit of deluxe department store makeup - occasionally, going overboard on myself and my younger sister Susan.
After college, in New York City, I pursued acting but needed a way to support myself. Fortunately a friend who was an established TV Makeup Artist, and a generous person, allowed me to become her assistant. This was an opportunity to truly learn the art of makeup and re-ignite my childhood passion. At each successive job I gained the secrets of professional makeup application and maintenance, learning to pay close attention to every detail and variable within the diverse environments of film, television and photography. And I continuously honed my skills on and off the set. After gaining enough experience, I started my own career and landed work as the makeup artist on two TV talk shows - The God Squad & Treasures in Your Home. After 10 years of hard work and dedication, I am a well-respected artist with a varied clientele across a broad range of industries. Today my work includes makeup and styling for Corporate Advertising, Photography, Red Carpet Events, Commercials, News Interviews, Industrials, and Weddings. My makeup and styling advice has been featured in the book "Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips" by best-selling author Kris Carr and in The New York Times article, "Beauty On A Budget, Advice From A Stylist". And my latest venture, Beauty Hunt™, offers women a personal shopping experience geared towards finding the perfect products for their budget and lifestyle. |
